The Chinese Internet giant Tincent reported a better increase than expected in the first quarter revenue, driven by the growth of the game as the strategic promotion of the firm towards artificial intelligence is deepened.
Tincent, based in Shenzhen, is the operator of the Multifunctional application of China Wechat and a major player in the world industry of the Games.
The firm also has a presence at Cloud Computing, Entertainment and Ya, the latter of which has been encouraged by the Chinese technological giants after Chatbot Advanced Deepseeek’s shock launch.
The revenue in the three months ended on March 31 was 180.0 billion Yuans ($ 25.0 million), which submitted a presentation to the Hong Kong stock market, 13% more than the same period last year.
The figure was slightly higher than a Bloomberg estimate of 175.7 billion Yuans.
In a breakdown of sales, Tincent said that the revenue of the national games increased by 24% year, while international games increased by 23%.
The net profits also represented a moderate increase during the first quarter, showing the results, jumping 14% year -on -year to 47.8 billion yuans.
“AI capabilities are already contributing to our companies, such as perennial leafy performance advertising,” the firm said in a statement.
Tencent added that the expense in “new AI opportunities” has increased, including the functions integrated into the Wechat application.
Chinese technology giants have been pulling in the competitive field of the AI launch of the Deepseeek Chatbot in January.
The little known Chinese company led to a global turmoil because it seemed to have developed the chat on a fraction of the western industry leaders as the United States Openai.
This year, Tencent began trying his own AI model that he says can overcome Deepseek.
Tincent was among technology companies trapped in a wide domestic repression that began in 2020 with officials who called the massive and planned list of the Fintech company, linked to Alibaba.
Beijing has pointed out a renewed kindness to technology companies in recent months, but there are still broad restrictions on access to video games for minors.
