Police against terrorism are investigating a fire at the house of Sir Keir Starmer Prime Minister in northern London, in the early hours of Monday morning.
The fire in the house of four bedrooms, which Tight He has rented tenants since he moved to 10 Downing Street in July last year, damaged the property, metropolitan police said.
“On Monday, May 12 at 01:35, police was alerted by the London Fire Brigade for a fire report at a residential address in (Kentish Town),” police said in a statement.
“The officers attended the scene. Damage was caused to entry the property, no one was injured. The fire is being investigated and the cords remain in place while the queries continue,” the force added.
Starmer’s house has been led by protesters in the past, including in relation to the Israel-Hamas War.
Starmer on Monday announced a repression of migrationwarning that Britain risked being “an island of strangers” without further actions.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister on Monday said he “appreciates emergency services for his work”, but refused to comment more due to live police investigation.
At around 18:00 on Monday, the street where Starmer’s house is still sealed at both ends. Inside the cord there were police officers and a London Fire Brigade vehicle set “fire research, working dogs”.
Police against terrorism, who are specialists in distinguishing the nature of a possible attack, is common when a high -level property is the subject of fire damage.
The fact that the police investigate suggests that there are reasons to believe that the fire was intentionally started, but in this phase it is unclear whether it was an amateur protest or something much more serious.
The United Kingdom faces various threats and at the head of MI5, the Domestic Intelligence Service, warned in October That the Russian spies were in a “mission to generate boxes” on the streets of Britain and Iran encouraged lethal plots to “an unprecedented rhythm and staircase”.
The London Fire Brigade described it as a “small” fire “outside of a property”, which was managed by two firefighters. “The brigade was called on 01.11 and the fire was under control on 01.33,” he added.
During last year’s general election campaign, which culminated in a job victory, Starmer moved his family to a high -end apartment owned by the Lord Waheed Alli party donor, saying that he wanted his son to review his GCSE exams without distraction.
In June last year, three pro-palestinian protesters were declared guilty of public order crimes after protesting outside the Starmer house two months earlier.
Children’s shoe ranks had been put out of Kentish Town’s property, and a hanging banner asking for Starmer to “stop the slaughter”, surrounded by red -handed printing.
Starmer’s wife told the magistrate court that the protest in April 2024, when her husband was still an opposition leader, had let him feel “a little ill.”
Lady Victoria Starmer said at the time that he would have seemed “a peaceful protest if he had not been out of my house.”
