(Reuters) – The Casino Caesars Entertainment operator registered a closer loss on Tuesday, driven by a strong performance in its digital unit amid the high demand for sports gambling.
The Reno company, based in Nevada, which manages online gambling segments, has increased its digital segment due to the growth of retail sports bets.
The company’s shares increased by up to 3% after the bell.
The revenue of their digital unit was $ 335 million, up to $ 282 million a year earlier.
Caesars recorded a net quarterly loss of $ 115 million, or 54 cents per action, compared to a loss of $ 158 million, or 73 cents per action, a year ago.
The revenue of Caesars in the quarter ended on March 31 reached $ 2.79 billion, compared to $ 2.74 billion a year ago.
