Do you feel like no one wants to work? It is a generalization that results from the “great resignation”, when many voluntarily left their work during the pandemic.
Financial teacher Vincent Chan Dove more deeper into this topic and discussed three reasons Why no one wants to work. He used historical data to validate his points as he presented a wide image of modern work experience.
“Today, it only feels like a slap on the face,” he said.
How did things get to this point? These are the three reasons why Chan highlights his video.
Don’t miss:
Chan begins his video by exposing the great lie that hard work pays. Although hard work has paid off in various cases, people do not always see it in the workplace. Chan explains how a little productive co -worker was promoted because he was an old friend of his head’s family. These types of promotions can cause hard workers to feel discouraged and not recognized for their efforts.
Although this type of office policy has always been present, Chan also presented a graph that showed the growing gap between workers’ productivity and payment growth. Both metrics moved together until 1979. Since this year, people have been working harder than before, but they have ceased to be rewarded for it.
Boomers worked for a time when Chan called the “Golden Age worker”, where people paid for their efforts. There was no gap between productivity and salary growth today. This gap and growing promotions depending on who you know instead of what you can do, you have discouraged to make an additional effort in many jobs.
Trend: Can you guess how many retirees with a $ 5,000,000 nest egg? The percentage can hit you.
Chan also cited toxic work environments as a key reason that most people do not want to work anymore. These environments can lead to mental health problems and a burn that makes you ask why you work first.
Chan is inclined to this discussion with a quote from the Squarespace OCM, which said that Z -gene work applicants should be willing to work for free and long hours. Nothing is healthy for working long hours and not paying them.
