Brussels intends to propose fares to Boeing aircraft, as it prepares a subsequent retaliation in the event that the conversation trade with Washington fails.
The European Commission, which manages the EU trade policy, will include civilian aircraft in a list of about 100 million euros of the United States annual imports to goals, according to two people who know the subject.
But the measures will only come into force if the EU does not advance enough to reduce US rates, they said. The measures must be approved first by a weighted majority of the Member States.
United States President Donald Trump on April 2 imposed a Minimum additional fee 20 percent of almost all EU exports as part of its so -called “reciprocal” measures. But he reduced this to 10 percent on April 9 for 90 days to allow time for conversations.
