Your guide on what Trump’s second term for Washington, Business and the World means
Donald Trump said he did not know if the people of the United States deserved a legal process due, which is guaranteed by the North -American Constitution, as he exploited the judiciary to frustrate his plans to deport immigrants without documentation.
Trump made the comments in a wide interview with NBC on Sunday, in which he renewed his push to turn Canada into 51st American state, insisting that he would not shoot Jay Powell, the President of the Federal Reserve, before his term ended in 2026.
Trump’s statements on the rule of law in America occur as their push to deport millions of immigrants without documentation, an angular stone of their 2024 election campaign, faces road blockages in court, as individuals challenge their arrests and expulsions for constitutional reasons.
When asked if everyone agreed that everyone in the United States, including citizens and non -citizens, deserved a due process, Trump said he was not sure.
“I don’t know, I’m not a lawyer,” Trump told NBC. “We have thousands of people.
When he was pressured if he would defend the United States Constitution as President, Trump replied: “I do not know. I have to answer by saying, again, I have brilliant lawyers who work for me and obviously will follow what the Supreme Court said.”
Trump was asked again if he was considering looking for a third term in office, which he has often thought, but would challenge the Constitution.
Trump said he was not “looking” at this possibility. “So many people want it to do it. I have never had such strong requests as this. But it is something that, according to what we know, you do not allow you to do,” he added.
Trump used the interview to defend his economic policies from the criticism that U.S. rates were able to reign inflation and the growth of damage. This week blamed a fall GDP about the predecessor Joe Biden.
“I think the good parties are Trump’s economy and the bad parts are the Biden economy,” said Trump.
He also sought to stamp the fears that he sought to eliminate Powell from his post as a chair powered before the end of his term in 2026. Trump has been pressing for the Central Bank to lower their interest rates, but the Fed has constantly maintained them.
“Anyway, I can change it very quickly. You know, it is in a very short period of time,” said Trump.
Trump also reset his desire to turn Canada into 51st -American state, even after Mark CarneyThe Prime Minister of the Country won last week’s election in opposing the geopolitical and economic threats of the President of the United States.
Trump’s comments, ahead of the expected visit of Cardney to Washington this week, announced what could be a tumultuous relationship between leaders in North -American countries.
When asked if he would talk to Cardney about the annexation of Canada when they were found, Trump replied that he would “always talk about it.”
“You know why? We subsidize Canada with an amount of $ 200 million a year. We don’t need anything you have,” said Trump. “If Canada was a state, it would not cost us. It would be great. It would be a appreciated state,” he added.
Trump said it was “very unlikely” that the United States used military force to take Canada, but was more open to this possibility with Greenland, the Arctic Island controlled by Denmark, which has also been the object of the President of the United States in terms of territorial expansion.
“I’m not saying I will, but I don’t rule out anything. No, it’s not there. We need Greenland very badly,” said Trump.
