Unitedhealth names Insider Patrick Conway as CEO OPTUM

(Reuters) -Unnedhealth Group said that on Tuesday, Patrick Conway will take over the higher work in Optum, his health service segment, replacing Heather Cianfrocco, who will take a new role within the health conglomerate.

Currently, Conway is the CEO of Optum RX, the Company Pharmacy Benefits Management Unit. Conway joined Optum in February 2020 and has performed high leadership functions at Optum Rx and Optum Health.

Optum Health Services Arm offers a series of health solutions, from pharmacy profits to financial consultation and mental health support.

Cianfrocco has been appointed Executive Vice President of Governance, Fulfillment and Information Security in Optum.

The two new appointments are effective on May 6.

Earlier this month, Unitedhealth recorded a rare mass for its quarterly benefit and reduced its annual perspectives due to the highest medical costs than expected.

The company noted the increase in medical costs in its plans for major adults, and which was called “non -anticipated changes” to its Opum Health Services Unit, which was seen as the growth engine of the conglomerate business.

Unitedhealth had an approximate 2024, as it treated a consequence of a cyberata in its technology unit, raised medical costs and public reaction after the murder of its insurance chief Brian Thompson at the end of last year.

In January, the company named insider Tim Noel to lead the health insurance business.
